PRIDE Clean Streams Fecal Coliform Sampling Event Request for Laboratory Services: August 30, 2000 This is to request laboratory services for Fecal Coliform Analysis by Standard Methods of Water and Wasterwater Analysis with the following arrangements: 1. Samples will be delivered by Project volunteers at pre-arranged times during the week of October 9-13. Project coordinators will work with the labs to estimate the number of samples that will be delivered (Between 25-50, depending on lab location) 2. Project Clean Streams will provide the sample containers for use (125ml Corning EPA Plastic containers) 3. Samples delivered must have a project Chain of Custody Record with a matching official Project sample ID number written on the container before analysis can be preformed. 4. Samples should be delivered by project volunteers within six hours of collection. Samples should be delivered on wet ice. The lab will flag any samples delivered at a temperature above 4 degrees centegrade or exceeding the 6 hour holding time. 5. Analysis should be by standard methods for Surface Water Analysis for Fecal Coliform. Results should be expressed in Col/100ml Fecal Coliform. (3 dilutions) 6. Results of analysis should be reported by Excel Format Spread Sheet via Electronic as soon as possible after the sampling event (Hopefully by Tuesday, October 24) Mail To: ken.cooke@mail.state.ky.us kengle@centertech.com The Excel Spread Sheet should include the following fields (in this order if at all possible) Sample_ID (The Sample ID number from the Chain of Custody Record) Stream (Stream Name from the Chain of Custody Record Location (Location from the Chain of Custody Record) County (County from the Chain of Custody Record Sampler (Name of Sampler listed on Chain of Custody Record) Time (Collection Time listed on Chain of Custody Record) Date (Collection Date listed from Chain of Custody Record) Flow (Flow Value 0-5 from the Chain of Custody Record) Rainfall (Rainfall Value fromt he Chain of Custody Record) FC_Value (Fecal Coliform Value from Lab Analysis Method (Analysis Method) Flag (Note on any late, warm or otherwise suspect samples) 7.
